PA SHPO Survey Programs
PA SHPO manages two survey programs for identifying and recording older and historic places in Pennsylvania: Pennsylvania Above Ground Survey (PAGS) and Pennsylvania Archaeological Site Survey (PASS).
Information collected through these survey programs is added to Pennsylvania's statewide inventory of buildings, sites, structures, objects and districts in accordance with the Pennsylvania History Code. This inventory is available online through Pennsylvania's State Historic and Archaeological Resource Exchange (PA-SHARE) for the benefit of all Pennsylvanians.
Please Note: By submitting materials with respect to state and federal historic preservation programs administered by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC), you grant to the PHMC the rights to:
- Use the materials for education and promotional purposes and to promote the mission of the PHMC,
- Publish the materials on the PHMC website, and
- Make the materials available to researchers and scholars.
