Archives Parking


  • From I-83: Take the 2nd Street exit and follow 2nd Street north for 1.5 miles. Turn right onto Forster Street. Turn left at the third stoplight (Commonwealth Avenue/North 6th Street). Continue on North 6th Street for approximately 0.8 miles. Turn right onto Harris Street, then left onto Wallace Street. The patron parking lot entrance is on the left.

  • From I-81 (southbound): Take Exit 67A for US-22 East. Follow US-22/North Cameron Street for approximately 1.5 miles. Turn right onto Maclay Street and follow for 0.5 miles. Turn left onto North 6th Street for 0.5 miles, then turn left onto Harris Street. Turn left onto Wallace Street, the patron parking lot entrance is on the left.

  • From I-81 (northbound): Take Exit 67B for US-22 East. Follow US-22/North Cameron Street for approximately 1.5 miles. Turn right onto Maclay Street and follow for 0.5 miles. Turn left onto North 6th Street for 0.5 miles, then turn left onto Harris Street. Turn left onto Wallace Street, the patron parking lot entrance is on the left.

  • From the PA Turnpike (eastbound): Take exit #242 (Harrisburg West). Follow I-83 north to Exit 43 (2nd Street) then follow 2nd Street north for 1.5 miles. Turn right onto Forster Street. Turn left at the third stoplight (Commonwealth Avenue/North 6th Street). Continue on North 6th Street for approximately 0.8 miles. Turn right onto Harris Street, then left onto Wallace Street. The patron parking lot entrance is on the left.

  • From the PA Turnpike (westbound): Take exit #247 (Harrisburg East). Follow I-283 north for approximately 3 miles then merge onto I-83 North. Follow I-83 for approximately 2 miles and take Exit 51A to I-81 South. Take Exit 67B for US-22 East. Follow US-22/North Cameron Street for approximately 1.5 miles. Turn right onto Maclay Street and follow for 0.5 miles. Turn left onto North 6th Street for 0.5 miles, then turn left onto Harris Street. Turn left onto Wallace Street, the patron parking lot entrance is on the left.

  • From US Route 11/15 (northbound): From Camp Hill, take the Harvey Taylor Bridge Bypass and cross the Harvey Taylor Bridge, which becomes Forster Street. Continue on Forster Street for approximately 0.5 miles. Turn left at the fifth stoplight (Commonwealth Avenue/North 6th Street). Continue on North 6th Street for approximately 0.8 miles. Turn right onto Harris Street, then left onto Wallace Street. The patron parking lot entrance is on the left.

  • From US Route 11/15 (southbound): Take the 1-81 North ramp to Harrisburg. Cross the George Wade Memorial Bridge and take Exit 67A for US-22 East. Follow US-22/North Cameron Street for approximately 1.5 miles. Turn right onto Maclay Street and follow for 0.5 miles. Turn left onto North 6th Street for 0.5 miles, then turn left onto Harris Street. Turn left onto Wallace Street, the patron parking lot entrance is on the left.

  • From US Route 22/322: Follow US-22/322 and at the 1-81 exit ramps, keep left to continue onto North Cameron Street. Follow North Cameron Street for approximately 1.5 miles. Turn right onto Maclay Street and follow for 0.5 miles. Turn left onto North 6th Street for 0.5 miles, then turn left onto Harris Street. Turn left onto Wallace Street, the patron parking lot entrance is on the left.

Parking Information

  • Parking at the State Archives is free of charge
    • An onsite, monitored parking lot exclusively for Archives patrons is available off Harris Street.
    • There is street parking available on Sixth Street.
