Virtual Scavenger Hunt 2021

Everything to know about the PHMC Farm Show Historical Marker Virtual Scavenger Hunt

Welcome to the 105th PA Farm Show - Virtual edition! To celebrate Pennsylvania's diverse agricultural and rural heritage, the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) is bringing our traditional Farm Show Historical Marker Scavenger Hunt into the 21st century by blending the fun of a traditional scavenger hunt with mobile technology to create a unique learning experience heritage using the GooseChase.edu APP.

Since we cannot be at Farm Show or if this is your first visit, we hope our GooseChase game highlights the traditional Farm Show experience with the sounds and smells of animals in the Main Hall, exhibits in the Family Living Center and all our favorite treats from the Food Court! On your Farm Show hunt, the answers take a variety of forms – from a simple answer to a posted photograph or drawing.

The fun kicks off this coming Friday, January 8, 2021 and continues until February 5, 2021, so you can play along at your own pace throughout the four weeks.

Here's how to play along:

  • Download the free GooseChase app to your smartphone or other compatible device
  • On or after Friday January 8, 2021, search for "PHMC Farm Show Scavenger Hunt"
  • Join solo or create a team (limited to 1-3 members)
  • Head to the "virtual Farm Show" and start completing the missions!
  • Monitor your progress and that of other participants by following the leaderboard and submissions

Top participants at the end of the four weeks will receive prizes, including a family membership to the PA Heritage Society and other PHMC gifts.
